Terms of Use

Last updated 26 August 2026.

The short version

This is a portfolio site. Look at it, read it, link to it, get in touch. Don't take the work and use it as your own, and don't treat anything here as a promise about what your project will cost or achieve. Sending the contact form starts a conversation, not a contract.

The rest of this page is the same thing said carefully.

Who this is between

This site is run by TWST Studio Inc., a company based in North Vancouver, British Columbia. Where these terms say “I” or “me”, that's TWST Studio Inc. and Mikayla Ericsson. Where they say “you”, that's whoever is using the site.

Using the site means you accept these terms. If you don't, the honest answer is to close the tab.

Using the site

You're welcome to browse, read, print a page, share a link, and quote a short passage with attribution. That's what a portfolio is for.

Please don't do any of the following: copy the site or large parts of it, scrape it for a database or to train a model, pass off the work shown here as yours or your agency's, try to get into parts of the site that aren't public, upload anything harmful through the form, or use the contact form to send unsolicited sales pitches, which is both unwelcome and, for commercial electronic messages sent into Canada, regulated by Canada's anti-spam legislation.

The work shown here

Everything on this site is protected by copyright, and most of it isn't only mine to give away.

The site design, the writing, and the case study text belong to TWST Studio Inc. The project work appears with the permission of the clients who commissioned it. Client names, logos and trademarks belong to those organizations, and their appearance here means they were clients, not that they endorse anything on this site.

Cultural content, artwork and knowledge shared by First Nations and Indigenous partners in the projects shown here remains theirs. It appears with permission, it is not licensed for reuse, and it should not be reproduced, adapted or used to train anything without going to the community it came from.

If you'd like to use something from this site, ask. The answer is often yes, and it's always faster than guessing.

Getting in touch is not hiring

The contact form and my email address exist so we can start a conversation. Sending either one doesn't create a client relationship, a contract, or any obligation on my part to take the work.

A project starts when we've both signed a written agreement covering scope, price, timing and ownership. Until then, nothing on this site or in an early conversation is a binding quote, and budget ranges shown on the contact form are there to help us find out quickly whether we're in the same neighbourhood.

Please don't send confidential material through the contact form before we've talked. A short description is enough to start, and anything sensitive is better shared once there's an agreement in place to protect it.

What I can and can't promise

I keep this site accurate and current, and I'll fix mistakes when I find them or when someone points one out. But the site is provided as it is. I can't promise it will always be available, that every link will work forever, or that it will be free of errors.

Case studies describe what happened on specific projects for specific clients. They're honest accounts, not predictions. What worked for one organization is not a guarantee of what will happen for yours.

Nothing on this site is professional, legal or business advice.

Links to other places

Links out to client sites, articles and tools are there because they're useful. I don't control those sites and I'm not responsible for what's on them or what they do with your information once you arrive.

Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, TWST Studio Inc. isn't liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of this site, and total liability for anything connected to the site is limited to one hundred Canadian dollars.

Some jurisdictions don't allow limits like this, so if yours doesn't, this section applies as far as it can and no further. Nothing here limits liability for anything that can't legally be limited.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute goes to the courts of British Columbia.

Changes

These terms can change. When they do, the date at the top changes with them, and using the site afterwards means accepting the current version.
